6,187 Klang students to be vaccinated starting 23 September 2021

Following the government's announcement on the start of vaccination for teenagers,  some 6,187 students aged 16-17 will be receiving their vaccination appointments soon. These students come from schools and junior colleges located in the South Klang area. From 23 September to 1 October, Sekolah Agama Menengah Tinggi Sultan Hisamuddin (SAMT) that is located at Jalan Kota Raja will be a vaccination centre for these students.

162 frontliners from Klang General Hospital has reached out for psychological therapy

The Klang General Hospital - Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) has been overburdened since June. With multiple negative new reports and traumatic accidents, the frontliners had to face tremendous pressure while maintaining their professional composure. This has taken a serious toll on their mental health and as many as 162 frontline doctors and nurses had to receive psychological counseling.

Huge drop in COVID-19 cases in Klang but fatalities rise in contrast

Klang district's COVID-19 cases in September has dropped drastically. According to the Ministry of Health's data, as of 13 September, Klang has recorded 6,667 new cases, compared to the numbers from one month ago, which was 25,850 cases, new cases had decreased as much as 74%.

On 11 September, Malaysia's COVID-19 death count leaped to 592 deaths, with 215 of them from Klang. The Ministry of Health had clarified that the data included past deaths that were in backlog and hence the sudden surge in numbers.
