Before closure, the Klang Hokkien Association PPV had been operating for four weeks and had vaccinated more than 30,000 people. The Association has been appealing to the government to reopen the large-scale vaccination centre to continue helping the residents of Klang and migrant workers to get their vaccination doses.

Large-scale PPVs in Klang set to close, only Wyndham Acmar left

As most of Klang district's adults have received their first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, Klang's large scale vaccination centres (PPV's) have accomplished their initial goal to achieve herd immunity. These vaccination centres are due to be closed down from 22 August onwards, leaving one last large-scale PPV, which is located at Wyndham Acmar that will mainly provide vaccinations for migrant workers.

As the Jalan Pekan Baru cluster continues to expand, an old folks' home located at Taman Eng Ann records 27 confirmed cases, including 22 elders and 5 caretakers. As of 18 August, 15 of the elders have passed away due to the virus.
