"Klang Hokkien Cultural Festival" with the theme of "Klang Taste·Life Festival 3.0 - Hamuan Original" will be held this weekend (3rd and 4th) for 2 consecutive days at Persatuan Hokkien Klang
There will be more than 70 booths of Fujian native food, cultural creativity, handicrafts, etc. participating, and there will also be a lucky draw of RM5,000, which will be distributed through the WAVPAY e-wallet.
Councilor Ke Pengfei, Co-Chairman of the Organizing Committee, pointed out that people who have downloaded the WAVPAY mobile app will have a chance to draw a lottery with cash coupons of RM5, RM10 and up to RM50.
He said that the programme of activities included lectures by 3 doctors, namely, Dr. Xu Weixiong's "History of Hokkien and Klang Chinese Community", Dr. Cheng Minglie's "Klang Hokkien Family Association" and Dr. Qiu Kewei's "A Brief Talk on the Hokkien Language of the Malay Peninsula" ".
"There is also a 'Historical Corridor' on site, with Guanghua students serving as tour guides, taking you to learn more about the history of the Hokkien Association and the Hokkien people."
Klang City Councillor Yan Yumei encouraged everyone to bring their own containers to be environmentally friendly and reduce waste. He also suggested that the public first download the Wavpay e-wallet and use it to pay on the spot.
She said that there were 20 prize-guessing gifts for the guided tour of the Klang Hokkien Huay Kuan Historical Corridor, and the prizes were awarded at 2 pm the next day (4th).
"Klang is home to 70% of Hokkien people, which hides the history of early Hokkien migration to Klang. I hope you can learn about it and make it one of the tourist attractions in Klang."
