The quick action of the fire brigade managed to save a food factory in Taman Sentosa here, from being completely destroyed by fire late last night.
The incident occured at around 11pm, and 60% of the factory was burnt. Fortunately, the blaze did not spread to other nearby areas.
Selangor Fire Director, Norazam Khamis Mohd. Noor said his party rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 11.13pm.
He said the extinguishing operation consists of a team of 37 members including officers from 6 Fire and Rescue Stations including Seri Andalas , Kota Raja and Port Klang Fire and Rescue Stations.
"Upon further inspection, we found that the fire was spreading within the factory building.
"Firefighters, through six fire engines, immediately started to extinguish the fire. The situation was successfully controlled at 1.30am, this morning," he said in a statement today.
Norazam added, no casualties or casualties were reported in the fire.
"The value of the loss and the real cause of the incident are still under investigation," he said. - UTUSAN
