A shipping container fell off a bridge and fell 12m to the ground below, crushing two vehicles and injuring one person along Jalan Pelabuhan Klang on Tuesday (April 5).
The falling container had landed on the back of another trailer truck which was carrying gloves, which was then hit by another truck. The driver of the said truck was stuck in the driver's seat.
The incident happened at about 1pm when the driver of the trailer truck carrying the container was said to have lost control before overturning.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) director Norazam Khamis said they received a call at 1.17pm before deploying a team from the Kota Raja Fire and Rescue Station to rush to the scene.
"Another container truck collided with the container and caused the driver to get stuck in the driver's side and suffered injuries. However, he was successfully removed by the fire brigade," he said in a statement today.
According to him, the 49 -year -old driver was sent to Tunku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) for treatment.
