A lorry ran over a motorcyclist near Port Klang, leading to his death.
In a statement on Tuesday (March 8), Selangor Traffic Police Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Supt Azman Shariat said that the accident occurred at Westport Tuesday afternoon. The deceased was a 72-year-old Chinese man from Taman Suria Pendamar, Klang.
He said in a statement today that the deceased was working as a crane operator in Westport Klang. At the time of the incident, the deceased was on his way to work when the accident happened near the gate of Westport.
“Investigations showed that the motorcyclist was attempting to overtake from the back but failed when attempting to avoid an object on the road.
“The victim fell and was ran over by a lorry that was on the right side of the road. A post mortem will be conducted.
He added that the lorry driver involved is a 50-year-old Indian man, and the police will be investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
