At the moment, Klang and Shah Alam is slowly recovering from the heavy floods. As of 8pm on 22 December 2021, 125 temporary flood relief centres have been opened, housing 5,165 families, with the total of victims amounting at 22,875. This spans across 8 areas and 18 districts in Selangor. As of now, 24 deaths have been recorded by the authorities.

The Selangor state government has also come up with a flood relief plan for those who have been affected by the recent flood. Attached below is the main visuals by Selangor Menteri Besar YAB Amirudin Shari.

Many of us were informed that we could receive up to RM1,000 subsidy from the government. The claiming process was very troublesome and many victims expressed their dissatisfaction over it. Hence, the Menteri Besar of Selangor had decided to reevaluate and simplify the claiming process.

Here's the information BaSangLang.com has compiled thus far for the previous claiming process. Your application should still be applicable if you've already submitted all these documents to the local authorities. In the mean time, we'll update everyone once the new and simplified claiming process has been announced.

Applicants will need to fill in this [form], if you do not have a printer at home, you should be able to get the form at your local DUN's office.

Documents required are -

  • Complete form above
  • A copy of your electric bill or water bill or indah water bill
  • A copy of husband and wife's NRIC, or the applicant's NRIC
  • Clear photos of the flooding situation inside and outside of your premises

You will need to submit these within fourteen (14) days of the flood, and only one application per house. Please note that the relevant authorities will only process fully-filled in forms. Once complete, you can send the forms to -
Pejabat Daerah / Tanah Klang, Bahagian Pembangunan Masyarakat, Tingkat 1, Jalan Kota, 41902 Klang (Contact Number: 03-33711963)

The document will also require the signage of your local DUN representative or village chief. Attached along with the full list of Klang's DUN representatives [here]. We'll link several representatives that we know for your reference.

[DUN Bandar Baru Klang - YB Teng Chang Khim]
[DUN Sentosa - YB Tuan Gunarajah A/L R George]
[DUN Pandamaran - YB Tony Leong Tuck Chee]

For those who are in need of household necessities and cleaning materials, you may be able to find what you need here.

Please stay safe during this period of time. Let's help each other out during these challenging times.
