A missing man is feared to have drowned after he jumped into the Klang River near the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) building early yesterday morning (28 November 2021).
The incident happened at around 5:40am in the morning. The victim, said to be in his 20s, left his vehicle - a Perodua Alza which he was driving.
Bomba Selangor Director, Norazam Khamis said that they rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 5.47 am.
He said a team of nine officers and members with machinery from the Kota Raja Fire and Rescue Station (Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Kota Raja) were deployed in the operation.
"Based on witnesses of the incident, a man whose race was not identified left his car and jumped into the river.
"The search for victims is still in full swing around the area," he said when contacted by Utusan Malaysia today.
Norazam added that the search and rescue operation will also be joined by the Selangor Water Rescue Team (PPDA - Pasukan Penyelamatan Di Air).
“The PPDA team is on its way to the scene.
"The victim has not been found so far and the operation is still underway," he said. -UTUSAN ONLINE
