Yesterday on the 20th of October, Klang residents have seen a four-hour downpour of rain that caused low grounds to flood, especially the northern parts of Klang.
As of 5pm in the afternoon, floods were happening on highways, waters flood into homes, cars were immersed in the water, trees were blown over and water levels rose up to knee level at around 1 feet.
Bayu areas that had previously made ammendments to prevent the area's flooding situation had once again fell victim to the heavy rain. The local residents stated that it may be due to the LRT3 construction that's ongoing and hence resorted to filming and taking photos of the dire situations in hopes that the Klang Municipal Council will take action over it.
As of 6pm, flood were reported in Bandar Baru Klang, Meru, Sentosa, Eng Ann, Bayu, Pandamaran and many more.
Pandamaran assemblyman Mr. Tony Leong Tuck Chee had stated that many areas were flooded due to the large amount of rainfall recorded at 132mm. Even though the Klang Municipal Council has previously set up many flood control measures, it was still unable to cope with the large amount of rainfall.
