The national immunisation drive shifts into higher gear from today with walk-ins permitted at designated vaccination centres (PPV) in the Klang Valley.
Malaysians aged 40 and above and locals with comorbidities can get their jabs at any of the PPV involved from 2-4 August. For locals aged 18 and above, they will be able to walk-in to get their vaccination from 5-22 August. Please note that the walk-in exercise starts from 2pm, and runs on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Listed below are the participating PPVs, for Klang, it would be Hotel Wyndham, Klang.
Foreigners above 40 years old of age or with comorbidities may also walk-in for vaccination at a different date, which is 9-11 August. And from 12-22 August, foreigners above 18 years old will be able to receive their jabs via walk-in as well.
The government has stated that the walk-ins are only for Klang Valley residents, so if you're planning to walk-in to receive your vaccination, please bring along an identification document that has your address on it (such as your NRIC, any utility bills, driving license, student cards, worker cards etc) to prove that you're located in Klang Valley.
Individuals who already have appointments are not allowed. They are also not allowed to cancel their appointments to opt for the walk-in. The walk-in exercise is part of the government’s effort to vaccinate 80% of the population.
Dr Malina said the walk-in initiative would be helpful to those unable or facing technical glitches in registering through the MySejahtera app, the undecided and those who have registered but still awaiting news.
National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin had said that the walk-in exercise would be expanded to other states soon, with priority given to senior citizens.
