Mass screenings for COVID-19 have been held for the past month, an initiative taken by the Selangor state government to detect hidden community cases and silent carriers.
The free COVID-19 screening had previously observed thousands of attendees in other areas of Selangor. DUN Subang Jaya's free mass screening had 5,096 participants, with 130 of them testing postive (2.55%), while DUN Seri Setia saw 2,445 attendees, with 171 testing positive (6.99%).
And now it's finally Klang's turn. Since 2021, Klang has been one of the most heavily struck areas for COVID-19, being one of the first red zones in Selangor to be restricted. Even after months, Klang showed no signs of improvement, and we only recorded ever increasing cases. Hence, there is a high probability that we have asymptomatic and silent carriers within our community. And thus, if you have recently came in contact with a COVID-19 positive person, we strongly urge you to go for the free test just to be safe.
With strict SOPs and physical distancing being observed, people can either drive through or do a walk-in test. You can also pre-register via the MySelangkah app to ensure a smooth-sailing process [here].
The free screenings for Klang district will be held from 28 May onwards, you will be able to find the relevant schedules and locations in the visuals below.
