COVID-19: MCO ends, and CMCO returns

The movement control order (MCO) placed on Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Johor and Penang will be switched to conditional MCO (CMCO), announces Senior Minister for Security Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The CMCO will be implemented from March 5 - 18, a duration of 14 days.

Meanwhile, recovery movement control order (RMCO) has been announced for Melaka, Pahang, Terengganu, Sabah, Putrajaya, Labuan and Perlis.

Kedah, Kelantan, Negeri Sembilan, Sarawak and Perak remains under conditional MCO.

The Senior Minister also announced that inter-district travel within a state will be allowed, with the exception of Sabah. However, inter-state travel is still not allowed.

The Ministry of Defense also stated that all official/unofficial government/private events, social councils such as feasts, wedding/engagement, aqiqah ceremonies, prayers, prayers, tahlil, anniversary celebration, birthday celebration, reunion, retreat and other social events are allowed, effective from 5 March 2021. The attendee limit for said events for PKPB (CMCO) areas is set to 50% of the capacity of the event premise. (Refer to below photo for the official visual)
