Glovemaker Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd said the Covid-19 outbreak at its facility in Klang has grown to almost 1,000 cases.
In a statement today, the company said 990 cases have been detected as of yesterday.
This came after screening over 8,000 employees at all its nine plant premises and three corporate premises. The factory at Jalan Sungai Putus in Klang is the only one affected, hence the name of the cluster - Sungai Putus Cluster.
In a statement, the company said it was cooperating fully with the health ministry and the local councils to contain the pandemic.
It said employees in the affected plant were undergoing quarantine and that the plant would be closed until Dec 30.
