The Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has just announced the extension of the CMCO in most areas of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
Excluded locations include - Sabak Bernam, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor. Putrajaya has also been released from CMCO restrictions.
The CMCO was supposed to end on the 6th of December, and the extension will be another 14 days, which will be up until the 20th of December.
Remaining areas that still remain in CMCO includes Sabah, Kuala Lumpur, most of Selangor, as well as parts of Johor and Negeri Sembilan.
Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the if conditional MCO were to continue, the country's GDP would lose RM300 million each day. The government will not extend the conditional movement control order (MCO) in most areas, citing economic pressures.
As such, the conditional MCO which is set to expire tomorrow, will not be extended and revert to the recovery MCO - except in certain areas.
Enhanced MCO will also be enforced in several areas with a high number of Covid-19 cases.
