Today we're going to introduce another local favorite restaurant - Peng Heong Hakka Pai Kut!
They are known to serve traditional Hakka dishes and they have been around for more than 50 years in Klang. Their signature dish is their 'Pai Kut Beng' which is pork ribs rice. Taken along with fragrant rice, the dish is succulent, sweet, and absolutely delicious. They've also expanded their menu to include other dishes such as 'taugeh' or beansprouts, curry chicken, pork tripe soup and many more.
The pork ribs are already deboned, so you don't need to worry about wasting time chewing meat off the bones. Their dishes are available in different sizes at a reasonable pricing. People would normally opt for small portions and a larger variety of dishes when it comes to ordering from their menu.
According to Free Malaysia Today, the 'Chai Buih' is a must-order. Take it as a Chinese version of kimchi – spicy, sour and full of kick. Over here, this dish is prepared the proper way, and anyone who loves Chai Buih shouldn’t miss this one. Another family favorite is the 'De Kah Chor', which is pork knuckles with vinegar, and this dish is known for it's ultra rich and sour soup.
As for the ambience, you'll notice classic Chinese oldies from the 60s crooning in the background when you dine-in at Peng Heong. Photos of their dishes are plastered around the walls along with their respective prices for easier reference. Even under hot Malaysian weather, the restaurant is well ventilated and comfortable to eat in in the afternoon. There's also an abundance of parking lots available around the restaurant, so you seldom need to worry about parking issues.
